A Viana or Prado two-story in Madeira East has a roofline most homeowners look at once from the driveway and decide to leave alone. Three-car garage, second-story peaks, a lot of eave in between. That house is most of what Madeira Christmas light hanging is. Elk Grove Christmas Light Hanging brings the ladders and the lights, and you keep your weekend.

Big elevations take planning, not just more lights

Madeira’s family tracts went up from the late 2000s through the 2010s. Madeira East, near Big Horn Boulevard and Whitelock Parkway, opened in 2014 with three neighborhoods: Aveiro, with one- and two-story plans, and the larger Prado and Viana homes. Styles run Craftsman, Cottage and Santa Barbara.

On the tall ones, the question is which lines to light. Outlining every edge of a big two-story looks cluttered. We usually suggest the main eave, the garage run and the front-facing peaks, then let the entry do the rest. Where an entry is arched, lit garland follows it. Where a porch has columns, pillar wraps go on those. A second-story gable is the right spot for a lit wreath, since it’s too high for anyone to hang one themselves and it reads from down the block. Call (916) 823-8394 and we’ll talk through which lines suit your elevation.

Our roofline work is all clips. A tile roof, if that’s what you have, takes a clip made for tile. Gutters get a gutter clip, and nothing is fastened into stucco or trim. Up on a second-story peak, a strand that’s only draped will be hanging by New Year’s. Ours are clipped the whole way.

Young trees and what to do with them

Street trees here were planted in 2008 and later. Some have filled in, plenty are still slim. A slim trunk can take a tree wrap, but it won’t look like much from the street yet, and we’ll tell you that straight. On lots with small trees, a row of stake lights beside the driveway and front walk gives you the ground-level glow a canopy would otherwise provide. We map the stakes around sprinkler heads and keep cords along the edges, not across the lawn.

Madeira’s HOA situation, tract by tract

We could not verify a single master HOA covering all of Madeira. The city’s HOA map shows one association in this area, Glenbrooke, which is the Del Webb 55+ community. Esplanade at Madeira Ranch, the gated 55+ community off Poppy Ridge Road, has its own association as well. For the family tracts we found no public association documents at all.

So we won’t call your street HOA-governed or HOA-free from here. Your closing paperwork will say whether your tract has CC&Rs. If it does and they mention decorations, tell us at (916) 823-8394 and we’ll time the install and removal to suit. If it doesn’t, the calendar is yours. We have separate pages for Glenbrooke and Esplanade at Madeira Ranch if yours is one of those.

How Madeira Christmas light hanging gets scheduled

Madeira East was laid out around neighborhood parks, so some homes face a park or sit on a corner, with two sides of the house on view. Say so when you call and we’ll quote both faces.

Quoting is a phone conversation. Photos sent by text or email speed it up. A timer goes on every job, set so the lights are on for the evening commute home and off overnight. Then January rolls around and the crew is back on your street for the takedown. Clips, strands, stakes: all of it goes home in our truck.

Ready to hand off the ladder? The crew answers at (916) 823-8394, and the contact page is open if you’d sooner write first. Not a photo person? Tell whoever picks up what the front looks like.

    Madeira questions, answered

Does one HOA cover all of Madeira?

Not one we could verify for the whole community. Glenbrooke and Esplanade at Madeira Ranch have their own associations. For the family tracts, check your closing documents for CC&Rs and tell us what they say.

Can you reach the second-story peaks on a Viana or Prado home?

Yes. Tall peaks are a two-person ladder job here, and both the peaks and the upper eaves get clipped, not draped.

My street trees are still small. Is a tree wrap worth it?

Sometimes not yet. On a slim young trunk we’d often steer you toward stake lighting or a stronger roofline and revisit the tree in a few seasons.

Do you work on both sides of a corner lot?

Yes. Tell us it’s a corner or park-facing lot when you call so the quote covers both street faces.
