The gates and lamp posts at Heritage Lakeside get dressed for the holidays by the residents’ own Community Decorations Committee. Your house is up to you. If you’d like it lit without getting on a ladder, Heritage Lakeside Christmas light hanging is a job Elk Grove Christmas Light Hanging is glad to take, and one we plan around the association’s written removal deadline, which is explained below or skipped entirely by calling (916) 823-8394.
Rule 8.08, in plain words
The Heritage Lakeside Owners Association handbook covers outside lighting in Rule 8.08. Permanent fixtures on the front of the house need written approval and are limited to white or yellow bulbs. Then comes the part that matters in December: the rule says it does not prohibit temporary holiday lighting decorations, but it requires them to be taken down within two weeks after the specific holiday. It gives no start date.
We read that in the handbook dated March 2023. A newer rules document exists that we could not check line by line, and boards do amend things, so look at your current copy or call the association office on Granite Park Lane to be sure. Heritage Lakeside also falls under the master Lakeside association, whose posted rules carry the same two-week removal language.
What it means in practice: your removal visit is booked for early January, well inside the deadline, at the same time we book the install. Both dates get set in one call to (916) 823-8394, and nobody has to chase us.
Single-story homes on a private lake
There are 269 homes here, all one story, built by U.S. Home around the turn of the 2000s with two- or three-car garages. Low eaves make for clean, quick roofline work. Plastic clips on the gutter lip, or on the roof edge where there’s no gutter, carry every strand. Nails, staples and drill bits never touch the house.
A three-car garage gives a long straight run across the front, and a long run is where sagging shows first. With a private lake in the middle of the community, a Delta wind has room to get going, so we clip closer together on those spans. December fog comes off the water too. Plugs and connections stay off the ground and under cover. If a strand acts up in December anyway, one call gets it handled.
Lake lots have a second face. If your patio looks over the water toward the lakeside promenade, the back eave is the one people out walking see. Lighting it is a small add. Raise it on the call to (916) 823-8394.
Before anything goes in the planting beds
The association maintains the front yards and controls plant changes closely, right down to moving a shrub. So we treat the beds as theirs. Stake lighting along a walk works well on these lots, but clear it with the association before we push stakes into a bed their landscapers tend. The same goes for tree wraps on a front-yard tree. On the house itself there’s more freedom: a lit wreath up on the gable or beside the garage, lit garland around the entry, pillar wraps on porch posts, all hung with removable hooks and ties.
We leave the gates and lamp posts alone. Those are the committee’s.
Heritage Lakeside Christmas light hanging: how booking works
You’ll need to get us through the automatic gates, so we arrange the day with you ahead of time. Quotes are by phone. Describe the house, or send a couple of photos, and we’ll tell you what it takes. The lights are supplied by us and run on a timer, so they’re glowing when you come back from the holiday dinner at the clubhouse and off by the time the street is asleep.
We work the rest of Lakeside outside your gates and nearby Laguna West, so a stop on Crystal Bay Lane or Granite Park Lane fits the route. Reach the crew at (916) 823-8394, or write to us through the contact page.
Heritage Lakeside questions, answered
How long can Christmas lights stay up in Heritage Lakeside?
Rule 8.08 in the association handbook allows temporary holiday lighting and requires it to be down within two weeks after the specific holiday. Confirm against your current rules, since boards update them. We schedule removal in early January to stay inside that.
Does Heritage Lakeside restrict holiday lights to white or yellow?
The white or yellow bulb limit in Rule 8.08 is written for permanent outside fixtures. The same rule says it does not prohibit temporary holiday lighting. If you want to be certain about color, ask the association office.
Can you decorate the entry gates or lamp posts too?
No. The resident Community Decorations Committee handles the auto gates and lamp posts. We work on individual homes.
How do you get in to do the work and the takedown?
We set both dates with you in advance so you can let us through the gates. One visit to hang the lights, one in January to remove them.
