Not one of Glenbrooke’s 631 homes has a second floor. For Glenbrooke Christmas light hanging that’s good news all around: the ladders are short, the job is quick, and the eave sits low enough that every clip is visible from the sidewalk, so the work had better be neat. Elk Grove Christmas Light Hanging does the climbing so you don’t have to.

Cottage, Craftsman or French: what we look for

Del Webb built Glenbrooke from 2007 to 2014 with eight ranch floor plans, each offered in a Cottage, Craftsman or French elevation, all with an attached two-car garage. We don’t quote from the brochure name. We quote from what the front of your house has.

    • Porch posts. If your front has them, they take pillar wraps well, and a wrapped pair with a lit wreath between them can carry a whole entry.
    • A gable toward the street. We outline the gable and the garage eave with roofline lights and stop there if you like things quiet.
    • A lot of roof showing. A clean line along the lowest eave, plus lit garland at the door, keeps it from looking busy.

Not sure which you have? A photo taken from the opposite sidewalk tells us in two seconds. Call (916) 823-8394 and we’ll tell you where to text it.

The front yard belongs to the landscapers

The Glenbrooke Community Association maintains the front yards, which is why the plantings match from house to house. That affects two of our services. Stake lighting goes into beds that a landscape crew works on a schedule, so stakes and cords have to sit where a mower or a blower won’t catch them, and it’s smart to ask the association before anything gets pushed into those beds. Tree wraps are the same story. If the tree out front is association-maintained, get a yes first. We’ll wrap it loosely, with ties, and nothing stapled into the bark.

The house itself is simpler. Roofline strands sit on plastic clips at the gutter or roof edge, wreaths hang from removable hooks, and column and post wraps are held with ties. When it all leaves in January there’s no mark to show it was there.

Glenbrooke isn’t gated, so access is easy. The rules are another matter. The association’s governing documents sit behind the resident login, and its public pages don’t carry them, so we can’t tell you what the decoration policy says. We also won’t borrow rules from some other Del Webb community and pretend they apply here. Ask at the Arbour Lodge office on Del Webb Boulevard, or look in the portal, and let us know. We put the lights up and take them down on dates that fit what you find.

Once you have the dates, booking is a call to (916) 823-8394. The lights come with us and leave with us. We return in January, take everything off the house, and you never lift a storage bin. We’re in the surrounding Madeira neighborhoods and at Esplanade at Madeira Ranch through the season, so adding a Glenbrooke stop is easy. The contact page works too.

Low eaves, a timer and the nature parks

Low rooflines give the wind less to work on. We still clip the whole run and keep plugs up out of the damp. A timer brings the lights on at dusk and shuts them down before the street goes to bed. If you’re headed to a holiday dinner at Arbour Lodge, they’ll be on when you get home.

Three nature parks with walking trails run through Glenbrooke. If your side or back eave faces a trail, it might be worth lighting. Bring it up when you ring (916) 823-8394.

    Glenbrooke questions, answered

Does Glenbrooke’s HOA set dates for holiday lights?

It may. The Glenbrooke Community Association keeps its rules in the resident portal and we haven’t been able to read them. Check there or ask the Arbour Lodge office, and we’ll plan around the answer.

The association maintains my front yard. Can I still have stake lights?

Ask the association first. If they’re fine with it, we place the stakes where the landscape crew’s equipment won’t hit them and keep cords out of the beds they work in.

How long does Glenbrooke Christmas light hanging take on a single-story home?

Less time than a two-story, since everything is reachable from a short ladder. We’d sooner not promise a number of hours without knowing what the front looks like and what you want lit.

Can you light the side of my house that faces a nature park trail?

Yes. Three nature parks with walking trails run through Glenbrooke, so some homes are seen from the side or the back as well as the street. Tell us which eave faces the trail.
